georgiamomof3 0 #1 June 23, 2009 can you tell me why some dz require students to wear the jumpsuits and some do not? Im sure there has to be an advantage to this, but seems like if there were a safety reason then all would be doing the same. little confused on the different protocol/ and some do allow the flips for 1st time tandems' and some do not. thank you
spootch 0 #2 June 23, 2009 The jump suit protects you and your clothes from grass stains scrapes etc. Not all tandem jumps are landed on your feet, (some may use a slide in depending on wind) so wearing a suit will prevent you from looking like a poster child for a Tide commercial Also Tandem masters use diffrent exits for diffrent airplanes (or students for that matter) and a forward or reverse roll may be part of the exit ...... or maybe they are just showin you a good time
skybytch 273 #3 June 24, 2009 Some dz's want you to feel like a skydiver instead of a thrill ride passenger. The jumpsuit is part of that. Go with the one who doesn't do flips. Doing them increases the amount of risk that you are putting yourself under.
