SkyJeaux 0 #1 March 15, 2009 For those of us with BlackBerrys that have GPS built in, I just found a new free GPS logger that saves in KML format ( Google Earth ) locally to your BlackBerry, instead of just reporting back somewhere. Just crank it up, do your jump and then get back down and email it to yourself and load up into Google Earth. http://bb.emacf1.com/gpslogger.html Might just be a flash in the pan, use it once then it gets boring, but it could provide interesting information related to jumping. I knew about various GPS loggers for BlackBerry. Most new BlackBerries now have built in GPS. One can just turn this feature on, put the BlackBerry in a jumpsuit pocket, do their jump, and then they see their skydive path (and velocities) in Google Earth. Although the BlackBerries tend to use Sirfstar III chips which are relatively good, the antennas in the BlackBerries are not as optimal as handheld GPS units, so the lock may not be maintained as well. Something to try though.
