where to do my AFF

Recommended Posts

so i live in orlando and did my first tandem in june. well i want to get my aff now and its $1390 total. is it better to go somewhere else cheaper, do it in a week. i work at a hotel and can get rooms for 40 a night but the plane ticket would be expensive. so would it be worth it or are all places about the same price? and are some better than other? more jumps? thanks

If you would like to go on and get your A license, be sure to ask any dropzone that you're considering about the total cost of an A license, including additional jumps to hit the 25 minimum required, gear rental, coach jumps, packing class, etc. If you're going to compare programs on cost, make sure you're comparing apples to apples. AFF is fairly standard, but again, ask each program you look at what's included and what isn't.

There are a lot of benefits to doing your AFF locally, as you can continue to progress towards your A license at the same dropzone, and you'll already have the benefit of knowing the program and the instructors there. In addition, assuming you'll be doing much of your fun jumping once you're licened at the local dropzone(s), you'll have a chance to get to know people as you do your program.

You're not going to save enough over that $1390 to make up for the cost of the plane ticket and hotel rooms.

You have 5 large dropzones within an hour of your house. People would love to live where you do, there's no reason to go anywhere else! Don't look for the cheapest price, look at the dropzone reviews at the top of the page and go visit the dropzone and talk to people before you decide where you want to go. It'll be worth the trips and you'll probably have fun doing it. Your closest dz's are going to be DeLand, Titusville, Lake Wales, Sebastian and Zephyrhills.

if youk already liked it, why not do it there. sometimes, things cant be paid with money.. :)

when you have to do another jump, normally whats it from? and how much does it cost to redo?
and im gonna im waiting for this cold weather to leave like in a week or so

I think what they are talking about is sometimes people dont pass levels. ( ex. don't pull at correct altitude ) So they would have to redo that level to make sure that they can maintain alt. awareness. THis is just one example why you would have to repeat a level. It costs the same as the first time you attempted that level.

I really would not worry about that at all. It does not happen to everyone.
