goblin 0 #1 November 9, 2008 Since I've got my licence and been jumpimg for a while now i've always got an instructor from my DZ to fill in and/or sign my logbook for each jump. But the more i jump now, normally there won't be an instructor on the lift with us to sign off what i've done. So can i sign my own logbook off for what i've done on that jump or does it have to be an instructor? I'm B licence at the moment and obviously for progression jumps i understand they have to be witnessed and signed off by an instructor. I'm in Germany but jump at RAPA so anyone with BPA experience could probably answer this? Blues

goblin 0 #3 November 9, 2008 Does that mean that for normal jumps, ie, not for qualifications or next licence then i can fill in the details and sign these off?

For normal jumps the BPA ops manual does not require you to have any kind of signature whatsoever. In practice most DZO's will want to see signatures ink squiggles on your jumps when you have your kit and docs check at a new DZ or apply for a licence, but these may as well be Daffy Duck and Mickey Mouse, no one's actually reading them.Do you want to have an ideagasm? Heatmiser 0 #6 November 9, 2008 From what I know of USPA regs you can't sign to verify your own jumps, but you can have any licensed jumper sign to verify as long as you are not having to verify a maneuver. I don't know how that differs from where you are. What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience. Airtwardo Someone's going to be spanked! sapplegate 0 #7 November 10, 2008 Just have another licenced skydiver either on the jump or who was on the ground, manefest, floating around and noticed that you got out of the plane, etc.. sign them. Been around a long time and never had anyone actually check or verify the signatures. We all trust each other for the most part to keep in roughly honest.
