chrismgtis 0 #27 September 28, 2008 I guess I was a "skydiver" when I got my A-license, but once I got 100 jumps, that's when I realized I could be taken seriously as a life time jumper. I've been having to take breaks for a while now, but I won't ever quit entirely. Unless "the one" (some really kick ass chick) comes along. I don't think that will ever happen though. mr_music11 0 #28 September 28, 2008 Your "kick ass" chic will accept you for who you are and wont ask you to compromise that which truly makes you happy If flying is piloting a plane.. then swimming is driving a boat. I know why birds sing.. I skydive.

Unfortunately the last few didn't agree. Krstnparker 0 #31 September 28, 2008 Once you've jumped- You're not a virgin anymore. Once you jump your a skydiver. But you realize after you've done it once - there are a lot of things to you still need to learn. And the more time I spend at the drop zone the more sky whores I seem to meet. ~I knew exactly where it was, I just couldn't find it.~ http://www.flickr.com/photos/krstnparker/
Cari 0 #32 September 29, 2008 Why do you think you have to own your own gear to be considered a skydiver? I'm not saying that I'm a "skydiver" in terms of what most think, but I don't think I need to own a rig to be considered one. I mean, I spent much of college and high school as a cashier. I never owned an actual cash register, but I still held the title. :P

kkeenan 14 #40 September 29, 2008 Whatever it is, it certainly is NOT completing a Tandem jump. I cringe whenever I hear the announcements at a certain DZ following a Tandem, "Congratulations to our newest Skydiver, Joe Blow". I'm with Bill Von. When your Nationals medals make a lot of racket clanging together, you have a few World Records, and you've swooped down in freefall to catch a puppy that has fallen from the plane - then you're a Skydiver.Kevin _____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Andy9o8 2 #42 September 29, 2008 Would you be more comfortable with "student skydiver"? "Untrained skydiver"? He's certainly just completed a skydive; if it's his first jump, I still maintain (despite some others' disagreements) that he conquers his door fear pretty much just like most any other FJ student, and his risk of death on the jump is certainly no less than that of the TI. This is kind of like arguing about how long 1 String is, or whether it's long enough.

Or even intentionally throw your ass to make you unstable and you have to come out of it on your own. There's nothing more exciting, and scarier then being cleared to self supervise.
