BillyVance 34 #2 September 14, 2008 QuoteHow did the Houston area DZ's fare in the hurricane? there was a post in my Hurricane Ike thread in the Bonfire that mentioned that the schoolbus in the hangar at Spaceland prevented the hangar door from blowing inward. Most other hangars lost their doors there."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
GAskygirl 31 #3 September 15, 2008 Apparently the power is back on at Spaceland and the planes are back from whence they escaped. No more details at the moment. Christy Blue Skies! -=Christy=- D-21464
pirana 0 #4 September 15, 2008 If any of our Spaceland/ex-Baldwin friends see this thread, post a note and let us know how you are doing. gemini 0 #5 September 16, 2008 Everyone at Spaceland is ok and all the trailers survived in the hanger. Lots of steel flexing and shaking according to those who stayed during the storm, but very little rain. Back in operation today (Tuesday). JohnDeere 0 #6 September 16, 2008 Sweet i am glad you guys are ok. Oh and the DZ to. Hope to get down there in a couple 2-3 weeks! Nothing opens like a Deere! You ignorant fool! Checks are for workers!
BirdWoman 0 #7 September 17, 2008 Skydive Houston did good as well. The RV park stayed intact as did the building. There was some tree debris on the property but was cleaned up. The pool will need some work but that's to be expected. The planes are safe as they were taken out of town before the storm. The power has been restored as of yesterday so we will be back to normal ops this week. BTW-I think we have a toga party this weekend..."I don't know where it is that I'm going, but wherever it is there I'll be!" --quoted by me
