Nickkk 0 #1 August 8, 2008 Right out of my Rawa helmet! The locking screw was found in the plane, although i dont remember touching it between jumps. Oh well...... All in all still had an awesome day though. 4 jumps at the Ranch. Wooooo! What do you do when someone throws a big planet at you? Throw your pilot chute in defense! Peej 0 #2 August 8, 2008 Sorry for your loss BUT: Was it recording? Is the tape salvagable? That might be cool video see Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
wildfan75 1 #3 August 8, 2008 We have video from an escaped camera at my dz. Its hilarious (and sad) to see it spinning around and around while seeing the horizon get higher and higher.
Peej 0 #4 August 8, 2008 Does it go all the way to the ground? I'd love to see that Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
skydiverton2 0 #5 August 8, 2008 Maybe your PC1000 did not like to to tandems with you any more Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
wildfan75 1 #6 August 8, 2008 Yep, all the way to the ground, into the grass. Not sure if camera stopped working, or they cut the video short when being burned on to either the DVD or VHS tape, but you see the blades of grass and then it goes black. I'll have to see if Todd can upload it somewhere and we'll post the link.
Nickkk 0 #7 August 8, 2008 That sounds like some cool footage! Mine was on, i climbed out and gave my count and it just went! I felt it and saw it out of the corner of my eye too, it was on a fun jump with 2 friends. He looked terrified in freefall trying to tell me but i already knew and just gave an i dont know expression and we still had a good jump! Oh well, wonder where it landed! mamajumps 0 #8 August 8, 2008 My boyfriend lost his camera & protrack to a similar thing in February.... He had a riser strike on opening and lost his entire helmet... the helmet was eventually found but only after it had laid in Sebastian Inlet for 10 days by some ladies dock.... I'm curious about how the brake line was attached to the sight.

Peej 0 #12 August 9, 2008 QuoteOh well, wonder where it landed! You haven't found it yet? That bites! A friend of mine had a similar story a few years back, he had a riser strike and lost his helmet on a ws jump. A few weeks later some locals turned up at the dz with the helmet claiming it landed in their swimming pool. When we asked them where the camera was they claimed they'd thrown it away because it was "water damaged" from landing in the pool and wasn't salvageable. We still have our doubts about that part of their story. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
bloody_trauma 2 #13 August 11, 2008 you shouldn't have leaned on that other jumper...dude sucks for you, hope someone finds it for you... Fly it like you stole it
JSBIRD 1 #14 August 12, 2008 A buddy of mine in lower Alabama bought a Leo helmet back in the late 80s to start doing vid with. He lost it one day and the decent tape would make you sick to watch...it spun and oscillated all the way down. When he found it, it was sitting upright, running with zero damage. Maybe it's time for someone to bring that technology into the 21st century.
