DON"T ATTEMPT TO PULL/THROW WHILE YOU ARE RIDING ANYTHING DOWN ! at opne of the chix rock boogies there were a few guys who jumps a stuff animal(lion) there were a few on the sides to stabilize and one guy riding it. it was spinning slowly but not so fast that it was dangerous. then the guy riding the lion throw his main. it COULD HAVE BEEN UGLY. what happens is that the lion/object creates a burble. the bridle went to full extension then slammed back down on the guy then went to full extension again. after that it must've caught air b/c his mian opened with a bunch of line twists. he could have been in soem serious shit if he had a horseshoe/bridal entanglement RESEARCH ALL OF YOUR OPTIONS, FIRST. plan for every type of malfunction and know your way out.My photos My Videos Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
happythoughts 0 #29 June 17, 2005 A while back, I was on a load with a guy who had an inflatable doll attached. The feet were duct taped to his feet and the top was run under his chest strap. In freefall, the top came out from under the chest strap and it was trailing behind him by his feet. It broke loose, but it could have been bad. I saw a guy get over a raft and then the raft flipped. It came up instantly and wrapped him. Broke his goggles and stunned him for a moment. There are plenty of videos where the ropes get wrapped around a persons hands. I also watched a guy geek the camera and hold onto an inflatable alligator after my ex g/f rolled off. She rolled off, counted 3 and dump (like she was supposed to do - rider has the center). She missed him by 20 feet and nearly killed her. All that stupid b*&^^% said was, "I've got 1000 jumps, I knew what I was doing." It is important to think these things through. linebckr83 3 #31 May 27, 2008 I took an inflatable whale about the same size as that shark up sunday afternoon! We got some pretty good footage with 2 different guys running video. Damn thing was absolutely impossible to control! Eventually it stayed upside down and spun in one direction so I got off. I talked to an S&TA for awhile about it and decided to keep it on opening. Very tricky getting stable enough but it is possible if you wait a few seconds. Very fun! To clarify, I DID NOT deploy while riding it. I got off and held it in my left hand, fully extended to my side to keep it away from everything."Are you coming to the party? Oh I'm coming, but I won't be there!" Rick 67 #33 May 28, 2008 I saw a video a while back. Someone in the center of the raft got clam shelled by the raft when front and rear persons bailed. After struggling for a few seconds you see a hand come out of the raft with a pilot chute in it. the deploying canopy pulled the person out of the raft. That could have ended very badly.
