Better Dropzone?

Recommended Posts

I know y'all probably get all kinds of post from new people all the time. I understand I've been on Basejumper for a year and a half now and I understand they can be frustrating. I just wanted some personal opinions. Is anyone in or near Virginia? I wanted to know which dropzone people thought was better between Skydive Orange or Skydive the Point? I've been leaning more towards Skydive Orange. There both the same distance apart so that doesn't matter. i'm not really sure about the Point but I was planning on taking the rigging class at Skydive Orange. I just wanted an opinion from experts so I would appreciate any help y'all could give me. Thank you:)

I think both dropzones are great, and I'm more than a little biased:)
If you are looking for people to bash the other DZ, I think you'll find it hard to come by. The two DZ's have a pretty good relationship. I have no hesitation recommending Skydive the Point, even though they are our biggest competitor.

Hope to see you soon.

I never jumped at the point but I will give Orange props for being a very cool club dropzone.

When the UConn skydiving team was coming back from Collegiates in January 07 they opened the dropzone for us mid week. It was the coolest thing ever. They got an Otter pilot, some funjumpers came out to jump with us, and some of their members hosted a BBQ for us later on that evening.

They also let my grandfather who came out to visit us sit right seat in the Otter on the last load of the day, he had great things to say about Orange.

It is an AWESOME group of people! :P

Thanks guys I actually didn't even think about trying both out. Don't know why it just never crossed my mine but I'll probably do that. Thank you.

Spend even more time than a weekend at each. Jump sometimes at one, then sometimes at the other. You'll make good friends at both and after a bit you'll just know which one feels more like home to you and wind up spending most of your time there.
