RW and FF?

I didn't build my first successful 4-way vertical round (2 head-up, 2 head down) until I had about a thousand jumps. The other three jumpers all had at least 500 jumps each.

With belly-position RW nearly any group of skydivers with compatible clothing can successfully build formations. It's the greatest common denominator and provides more immediate gratification.

Absolutely. If you look at the training that went into, and the scores that came out of, the top open class teams in both VRW and 4-way FS at the 2007 nationals, you'll find that open-class skydiving is open-class skydiving no matter how you cut it. However, getting five people together on a team and rising to a level of "sucking horribly" (which I'll define as a 1-point average) is, indisputably, a much more difficult proposition with VRW.

I did both last year, and I am doing both this year, because they are both incredibly fun and I apparently have too much time on my hands.

I had some very experienced free fliers that until I had a 100 jumps on my belly that I shouldn't even consider free flying - took it to heart as I respect them and have strictly been a belly flier. I love RW....but wouldn't mind learning to free fly - it will be an entertaining season anyway:D:D:D

I tell every nooblet the very same thing. The all seem too eager to start freeflying as soon as they get their A license. So far none have taken my advice. :( I honestly believe spending the first 100-200 jumps on your belly (doing real RW) not only will make you a better all-around skydiver, but will actually make you a better freeflyer in the long run.

That a girl, Jump numbers can't really dictate when you are ready to FF but they do expose you to the risks that are involved when you decide to try it!!! You are ready in my opinion, we need to turn you from the dark side soon so we can balance the force. B|B|

How about Shelton when the weather looks good?
Some day I will have the best staff in the world!!!
