chaoskitty 0 #1 November 13, 2006 Every year I set goals for myself to accomplish within this sport. 2006 I focused on freeflying and feel that I made decent progress for the number of jumps I was able to afford. Nothing to brag about, but I'm satisfied. In 2007, I want to continue to work on my freeflying. I MUST MUST MUST improve my canopy skills. And when I feel like I'm a better canopy pilot, I want to start flying a camera (for fun jumps, not for tandems), and try out a wingsuit. I'm just writing this down because.. I felt like it.. and maybe you have some goals as well?
matthewcline 0 #2 November 13, 2006 Top over 3500 jumps. AFF-I (had the same goal this year but duty got in the way). Run 2 Coach Courses (one next weekend, yeah I know it is still this year) Run 2 Static Line I Courses (one scheduled for Jan) Run 2 Tandem I Courses (one scheduled for Jan) Train no less than 6 FJC Students through the "B" license. Train no less than 4 to PRO Rated Demonstrators. Perform in no less than 20 DEMO's. Print two articles in the local paper on skydiving (had 3 this year and the yhelped to draw students to the 2 local DZ's and they did list 6 DZ's each time) and get others to do the same as all the above. Not enough really, but a start. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
NWFlyer 2 #3 November 13, 2006 -Stay alive -Stay safe -Have fun -Stay more current than I did in 2006 -Continue to improve in-air skills, working towards eventually getting the coach rating, maybe next year -Continue to work on improving my landings and getting to know my canopy"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Orange1 0 #6 November 13, 2006 Well, i missed one of my 2006 goals (to not get broken) which pretty much scuttled the rest of them (getting recurrent in windy season doesn't help much). So... 1. Don't break myself. 2. Tunnel training (planned for January - we have no tunnels here so it isn't as easy as it is for some of you) 3. Get my B licence (75 freefalls required so I'm still short of jumps, hoping the tunnel will help with the skills for the 4-way test jump) 4. Do lots of FS and ideally get on a team ... that's about it really. Not too ambitious - but I really want to try get my FS skills nailed. Then maybe I can start thinking about freeflying in 2008, after I get my C Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
AggieDave 6 #7 November 13, 2006 2007 has two distinct goals for me. 1. Continue to improve in the CPC competitions and go to the National Championships this year. I'm taking the steps I need to get better and I'm taking off work for the championships. 2. Finish up the RW coaching package I was given so I can finally get my AFF-I this year. My wife is going to try for her AFF-I so I've got a training partner.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #9 November 13, 2006 Quote4. Learn how to swoop. Good luck and get coaching. Good coaching. I've been working on learning how to swoop for over 4 years and quite a few jumps and I'm still learning how to swoop.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Mostly_Harmless 0 #10 November 13, 2006 I plan to take my time in learning how to swoop. Getting a coach will be the hard part but I don't plan on making any big leaps without one._________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
