JeepDiver 0 #51 November 18, 2007 I am surprised that only 17% jump with a cell phone. Being as small as they are and potentially important in the event it may be needed most jumpers don't bother to carry it with them. Why is that?
gearless_chris 1 #52 November 18, 2007 My phone is too important to lose during a jump or damage on landing. I still take it with me at SDC or when I know I may land off though."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.

When do you KNOW you won't land off?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Jon26 0 #55 November 19, 2007 It's like going to a desert island retreat and taking a laptop. If i misjudge the jump so badly that i land off-off then i deserve the walk and it'd probably be fun anyway. At our DZ, if u land so far off you need a phone, a compass, ID etc. you are either flattened against craggy mountainside or drowning in a very deep, very cold lake.
