Quotedo these threads ever get locked? Then their is also the fact that if you didn’t post to the thread it wouldn’t have bumped to the top again but at least now we'll be able to see if dz.com will explode with a thread gets viewed 100000 times.... JC The thread lives!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw some time back I googled skydive just to see what came up and it looks like skyrippoff is fading away! Not that they are out of business but they are using other names now instead of skyride........... do you think this thread has helped bring about the end of the skyride name??????? skydived19006 4 #1733 March 16, 2006 I think that there is only one thing that will ever “make Skyride go away”, and that is for all DZs simply not to accept the certificates! That may never happen, but in the meantime DZOs need to step up to the competition! Meet Skyride on their turf, if Skyride is garnering business from paid internet search ads in your area, maybe you should make sure that YOUR customers are exposed to an ad for a real DZ at the same time. That’s been my strategy, and not only has it all but eliminated the Skyride presence in Kansas, but it’s increased my student business! Competition is the American way, not everyone honest and/or honorable, deal with it, and COMPETE! BTW, does this thread hold the dropzone.com record for longest, most views, etc? Anyone know? Maybe the longest active running in time since we dont want to lock it, and new things come up from time to time, but several other threads have had a lot more views and posts (think boobies... )Remster

ripcords 0 #1742 March 19, 2006 *** The only way to truly meet skyride on their turf, is to lie to customers, steal photos, websites and phone numbers. Be basically dishonest with websites that mislead the customer into thinking that they are going to the closest place, just to find out after many hours driving that the actual dz is no where near them. How about being a customer that made over a four hour drive after being told to come out, the weather was beautiful. Arrive at an empty skyride dz even though the weather was indeed beautiful, but the people that told them to come were in Atlanta. No one was at their Pennsylvania satellite location. Yes, we spend more on web advertising now, but it does not stop people from buying from the scam artists and getting a bad taste in their mouth about our sport in general. BTW - How do you know that it has eliminated the Skyride presence in Kansas? How can you possibly know the customers that aren't coming to you? You probably should have even more customers. If there are enough gift certificate sales in Kansas, expect a satellite location near you. Or is Atlanta just a short drive from Kansas?
