nate_1979 9 #1376 August 6, 2005 The dropzone.com dropzone list is a great reference... However, it doesnt do much for advertising... this wheretojump thing is an advertising effort, specificly designed to debunk skyride on the search engines... Sounds like a good idea to me. FGF #??? Agreed with pilotd....few woffos have ever heard of dropzone.com....they search for "skydive", "skydiving" etc....My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. skydived19006 4 #1380 August 8, 2005 Quote Hi BB Skyride lied to me We got a coupon book in the mail for our little po- dunk town of 10,000. Coupons for burger king etc and a 15% off certificate from skyride!!!!!!!I was stoked 15% off for a tandem, ballon ride etc.Eventually a real person answered, we told them we want to make a tandem and save the 15% only to find out that all their operators were busy So we left our name and number & they promised to have someone return our call in 1/2 hourThey lied four days later they still haven't returned my call The good news is that the 15% offer is good for a year I have to hand it to the skyride folks that in addition to the internet they are marketing to small towns via coupon books (color) with the 15% off pitch. Since they haven't bothered to return my call What else are these guy's lieing about Damn I wanted my wife to do a tandem this weekend R.I.P. That’s funny, they’ll give you %15 off, plus $40 discount, ironically the price will still be $240 or whatever it normally is once you add in the instruction, gear rental, etc. etc. Call them and check into the discount! They’re generally very good with customer service! That is good up to the point that they have your credit card number. Call and press for the “final answer” regarding price, you’ll have to really push for them to give you the price with all the additional charges without giving a credit card number. Whatever you do, do not give them a credit card number!Experience is what you get when you thought you were going to get something else. AC DZ

Hi 19006 Skyride wouldn't even call me back to give me the sales pitch I'm not going to waste my time chasing after them just for the entertainment value of listening to their B.S. I'm just wondering if skyride is so busy from the direct mailing discount coupon gimmick that they can't even return the calls from potential customers. To bad we missed out on listening to their line of BS, in spite of waiting by my phone 24/7 for a week. Just my luck R.I.P.

BillyVance 34 #1388 August 15, 2005 If I recall correctly, today (Monday), August 15 is the day that all three of Skyride's real DZs, and affiliate Chuting Star rigging loft, officially loses their USPA DZ Group Memberships. Or is it the 16th? Small victory... Now let's bring on the real victories! Get Skyride's call center shut down. Get their 900+ web sites using stolen copyrighted photos and graphics taken off the internet. Throw Ben and Cary's asses in jail. Confiscate their mansions, luxury cars and bank accounts. Distribute the proceeds from the seizures to all the other DZs and skydivers who were screwed over by these scumbuckets. And maybe then, the balance of karma will be satisfied. Hey, it's a goal we can all aspire to. It won't be easy. We may not win all the battles, but let's focus on winning the war. slug 1 #1389 August 15, 2005 Hi BV Don't know about closing down their call centers, but they appear to be having a staffing shortage. They promised to return my call in 1/2 hr and we'll be coming up on the 1/2 month anniversery and still no phone call Lucky for us the 15% Tandem coupon is good for a year so we can wait by the phone until they get caught up with their backlog. R.I.P. They're not going to call you, go ahead and call them back. If you do it sometime other than "peek" you should be able to get right through I would think. Then report back about how the "discount" works out for you! Actually if they are unable to keep staff it may seriously hamper their ability to screw potential skydivers. I wouldn't ever encourage anyone to call and give their call center people a hard time, but if people did they might "reconsider" their jobs? I for one would much rather be pushing french fries at McDonalds, than to have to listen to people inform me of what a lowlife, thief I was working the Skyride boiler room!Experience is what you get when you thought you were going to get something else. masterblaster72 0 #1396 August 16, 2005 I believe companies with 800 #s pay $.10 per call. So do what they say -- call 1800 Skyride....and do it often. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

Having worked in senior management for a company with a call center let me assure you that this is incorrect. Call Centers pay some of the lowest rates per minute, less than 3.5 cents per minute, so your call would have to last over 2 minutes to cost the call center 10 cents. packerboy 3 #1398 August 17, 2005 Is Joe Jennings connected to these guys? I saw his name on their skydive.com website. chicagoland 0 #1399 August 17, 2005 I assure you that skydive.com is not associated with 1-800-SKYRIDE. skydive.com is the official site for Chicagoland Skydiving Center in Hinckley, IL. We, as a DZ and as internet marketers, are doing everything we can to put that company out of business and educate the consumer. Joe Jennings and I have swapped links for years. He does, however link to skydiving.com (another Ben and Cary site). Although he has been linking to that site since Lyle Presse managed the domain for St. Catherine's Sport Parachute Club. He might not know that he is now linking to the enemy.
