well ... as i am a cam flyer i don't really see what i have to do with tandem rigs manufacturers requirements ...
as i said : other countries : other rules ... i'm not saying that i am the best one, but i have seen some very bad shots from 3000 jumpers too
regarding my certificate i really don't have to show it here as you are not my DZO, nor TMs, not even my Video Team manager and i forget here my Security officer ... sorry guys, I'm ready to take any good advice, tips and tricks but don't play the "YOU'RE A DUMBASS ..." with me ok ? i do quite a good job and i think that i don't have to be ashamed of my work at all. Most of all i know that i still have A LOT to learn and to me this is what it counts the most (not even speaking of the pleasure to do so !).

Kefran:
Regarding "don't play the 'YOU'RE A DUMBASS ...' with me ok?"
Riggerrob was probably curious because you wrote "my certification as a tandem camera will allow me to follow them in the sky". Your profile shows your home DZ to be in Canada, at a CSPA affiliated DZ.
I don't know of any certification required in Canada to allow anyone to do tandem videos. Educate me. You were simply being called out on something that someone probably believed to be inaccurate.
Perhaps the DZO has a strict procedure to qualify people to do tandem video, or likes to closely follow manufacturer's recommendations regarding RW with tandems, or perhaps English isn't your first language.
But you still say you have a certificate: "regarding my certificate i really don't have to show it here ".
True, but we may not believe you if you don't, and we may still be curious what certificate is required to film tandem video. I seem to be missing mine...

you're right that there's no CSPA certification. This is a procedure that our Video manager have set in place for our camera flyers, i mean for the team in charge of filming the tandems.
this «certification» is local and i never have said that it was anything else. i had around 15 jumps to do filming the tandems as a secondary cam first then as first one but always with our boss following me.
until he estimated i was ok in terms of :
1/ safety
2/ product quality
i wasn't allowed to go as a tandem camera.
each one of those jumps was seriously debriefed and analysed as he was filming me (or our other cam flyers beginners) during the whole jump.
just to add on the 500 jumps thing : let's say a friend of yours has 650 jumps logged, 450 of them being H&Ps (yes i know people like that ...) do you estimate he will be «qualified» for filming tandems ... don't you think that being formated specially on following tandems at 250 logged jumps will qualify this second person better than the 650 jumper ?
now the fact that people believe me or not is not really my point here and i won't lost my sleep for that.
