BillyVance 34 #5 August 20, 2007 That's probably going to leave a mark!! I broke my radius bone near the wrist diving out of an Otter on a 100 way dive 9 years ago. Near the end of the line, we start shuffling towards the door on exit, I stumbled or something and fell towards my left and stuck out my left arm to keep from banging my shoulder on the door frame... POW... hurt like a mother fucker I'll tell you that much. However... a certain plane incident a few years ago involving a 4 way head down group and a Porter diving down with it, resulted in one jumper tracking right into the bulkhead of the porter on breakoff, caving in the bulkhead and breaking one of the structural ribs. I shit you not. The jumper was okay, just had some fabric burn on his rig. He was very lucky. The plane was able to make it back to the ground in one piece though. But my money is on them launching a 22 (Tee- Chinese Tee). airathanas 0 #10 August 20, 2007 Looks like they should have gotten closer to the formation by bending their knees. Their butt is sticking out too far (maybe it's the wide angle lens, I'm not sure). They were a little late on the the count and could have arched a bit more, getting their legs up and out of the plane sooner. Still, I'm sure they didn't mean it and we all make mistakes. PhreeZone 20 #11 August 20, 2007 I think its a 22, I just looked at the NSL site and 22 was one of the rounds first points in th Advanced group. It looks like they are trying to launch the 22 with the sidebody and have the OC? release and pick up the cat grips off the door. My guess is they put 3 out with the tail low, deep in the door and out of frame, the OC is seen releasing and flying out and the IC and point are the main thing in the frame. How sad is it that this is all I picked this up by flying camera for less then 100 RW team jumps. Not bad for a dirty freeflier huh? My original viewing convinced me that the one that hit the door was on the sidebody since he's got an arm and leg grip already and the one in the front of the door outside appears to let go completely to fly for the cat but looking in really slowmo I can see a 4th person beside the side body thats facing out. I did a skills camp at El'Snore. I think we launched an 8 way chunk, me being furthest inside front. When we put it in the mockup, I was lined up in front of the door, all I could see was fuselage. I was a little nervous about pulled into the frame of the door on exit. The coaches said it will be fine. By the time the rest of the chunk was off/out of the plane, I was pulled back easily clearing the door. What a ride.50 donations so far. Give it a try.
