Istvan 0 #1 August 13, 2007 Not quite sure why this was in the news, but good for this guy! GLENVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - An 83-year-old New York skydiver, who's been jumping out of airplanes for less than ten years, has reached the 100-jump mark. http://www.cbc.ca/cp/Oddities/070812/K081204AU.html
PrairieDoug 0 #3 August 13, 2007 As someone who - much to my surprise - is approaching 50, I love stories like this. They tell me there's a lot more to look forward to down the road. Doug

Doug like Alzheimer's..... A: "I can't believe I'm going to jump out of an airplane" B: "This will be the 100th time you've done this" A: "Really?, what do I do?" B: "Time for your 99th refresher class"...and you're in violation of your face!

kallend 2,057 #6 August 13, 2007 Tom Morrison is 83, and he has around 10,000 jumps and is still very active.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
g2gjump 0 #7 August 13, 2007 I also remember seeing a man named "Late Jake" at Lost prairie a couple of years ago. He was about 84 I think.

Mantis 0 #9 August 13, 2007 Leo was on the load ahead of me last weekend for his 99th. He is cool as hell. We chatted for a bit about his work in WWII after our jumps, he was enjoying a bit of his homemade wine. I know a lot of people have some stories about their lives, but Leo had my full and complete attention for about an hour while we conversated. The only thing I would say is that his skydiving pales in comparison to his service to the USA. Great dude, I feel honored to know Leo.

Elisha 1 #11 August 14, 2007 There's a guy named Walter, who lives in Healdsburg, CA and used to jump at Lodi a lot (maybe still does - has been coming to Cloverdale lately) who is over 80...maybe 81 or 2 or 3. I was on a 5-way with him on 6/30. Amazing...he flies a Stiletto!
noname 0 #12 August 14, 2007 I've jumped with Walt recently at Lodi. He ROCKS!
