millertime24 8 #1 July 30, 2007 Ever solo jump yesterday. IT WAS AWSOME!!! Thought the opening would be a little harder, but it wasnt too bad. The landing was a plf because thats what the instructor's told us to do weather we could stand it or not . Freefall was 55 sec of being stable belly to earth with 2 PRCP's, several COA's, and trim control (oh yeah, and that minor little pulling part ). All in all, the best skydive by far up to now!Muff #5048

Imagine that! A student who actually listened and did a PLF!?!?!?!? Congrats! You're on a roll (pun intended). My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. millertime24 8 #4 July 30, 2007 Quote I hope your instructor taught you as well as mine... Beer = at least 12 coronas and 2 limes They taught me pretty well. Like how to inspect your gear, what to do for a mal, how to use the front risers to lose altitude, ect. BTW, those little Cypres thingies are tricky little buggers to turn on. > I just turned mine on on the plane ride up to altitude >. Also corona does not = beer. Sam Adams is better.Muff #5048
pinkfairy 0 #5 July 30, 2007 You may want to be a little careful with the word "first" in the skydiving world. "Firsts" generally mean that you have to buy a case of beer. But you don't have to when you're a student. Sounds like you had a great jump. Fantastic that you learn to PLF properly, it can really save your ass. Congratulations! Edited to add: What canopy are you jumping, BTW? PD Navigator? I loved that one. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?
millertime24 8 #6 July 30, 2007 Navigator 240 which is kind of odd since I only weigh 175 well around 190 with gear. It did take an unusually long time to get to the ground (which didnt matter to me. Just gettin my money's worth). I think that is why they had me fly around using the front risers. All in all a very docile canopy. Cant wait to go next weekend for my level 4 Muff #5048

millertime24 8 #9 July 31, 2007 It only works if your here. I'm not sending a $17 case of beer several states away (shiping would be more than the beer). I'll tell you what I will do though, I'll drink a case of beer and pretend I sent it to you. BTW Matt, we always drink beer when we hang out anyway and I *usually* buy it (unless I'm broke).
