chrismgtis 0 #26 July 27, 2007 Quote She backed out on me this evening. So looks like I will be doing my first jump alone... well with a person strapped to my back. I was going to say just jump alone when I read the subject. You can't depend on any outsiders to ever come to the DZ and jump with you. I've been at it for a year and no one has jumped with me yet. About 10 people have voiced interest in it though. None have shown up.Rodriguez Brother #1614, Muff Brother #4033 Jumped: Twin Otter, Cessna 182, CASA, Helicopter, Caravan
virgin-burner 1 #27 July 27, 2007 also i like to do stuff with the people i know and with which i'm familiar.. BUT, as far as it concerns me, if i go somewhere alone, usually i end up having the bigger blast than when i'm with someone known.. you know, you hang out together, dont really bother with the other people.. instead, if you're alone you're kinda forced to be more outgoing, meet and talk to new people.. and i love meeting new fellas! altough i have the biggest of mouthes, i'm actually a rather shy guy, deep down at least.. but i do everything to hide that fact! so yea, doing something "on your own" for me, only had benefits.. always! sometimes its not easy to jump over your shadows, but mostly it will pay out in your favor.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. kelpdiver 2 #28 July 27, 2007 QuoteI think a different level of temerity is required to do a first jump 'all by yourself' with no one around to help you as opposed to going to the DZ all by yourself and doing a tandem or aff jump. no, it's about the same. It was just as hard putting my foot out on the step in the wind above Vegas in 1995 as it was doing the AFF-1 exit out of the Otter in Monterey in 2003. The first exit is the first exit.
