Canopy Openings

I have an original Sabre (at 150) and she opens sweetly. I look after the slider during packing and have never had a hard opening (once, she didn't open at all tho:( - packing error!!!!).

Do you have a pocket on the slider?

Rolling the nose affects how quickly the nose starts catching air

when the canopy hits a 120 MPH wind, do you think that really makes a difference?

It does 100% on my hornet. I roll the four nose cells on each side and stuff them intpthe center cell. It turns a canopy that opens almost every jump into one the snivels a little and behaves.

On my Sentry 190 2 rolls on the nose vs none makes a big difference. YMMV, but it seems to make a difference for me.

Yes. Especially on an F-111 canopy.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

the best trick I have as a pocker is to make sure that you have the grommets of the slider flat and the slider quartered properly...

then once you get the canopy on the ground dont put your knees on the grommets like a ot of people do, put your knees on the fabric of the slider just past the grommets...

that keeps the slider in place a lot better.

Cheers
