taffclarke 0 #1 July 6, 2007 Hi everybody I hope some body can help me, and I think I put this on the wrong page but my wife is desperate (it was her first toy she brought) and upset so…. We were traveling on a Lufthansa flight from Dallas fort worth via Frankfurt to Israel. During the move one of our bags was ripped and her new weight belt was lost. Now I have tried calling Lufthansa customer services, emailed customer services and faxed customer with no luck. To me it is impossible in an age of increased security for them not to be able to a> find it as it is an object that would stand out due to its weight and b> with modern technology internet cell phones and communications, not be able to reply to me. I either want to make an insurance claim or get a telephone number of somebody who I can talk to get an answer and some help. So is there anybody that works for this airline who can help? Skydivers stick together! So I hope so. Blue skiessafety enjoyment learning, sel the sport. dont kill it.

beowulf 1 #4 July 6, 2007 Well worst case scenario you don't get the weight belt back, you can always order another one and they will ship it to you. You could PM RiggerLee on Dropzone.com and he can set you up with a new weight belt.
jeremy_o 0 #5 July 6, 2007 Wow, I would count your lucky stars that a weight belt is all that was lost. Time to buy a new one, I wouldn't even bother with claims on that small of an item.http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs. I traveled with a weight belt once; it earned me a visit to the special screening room at Pearson Airport in Toronto.
Jewels 0 #8 July 6, 2007 I've done it, too, although I told the screeners that I had it and handed it over to them before trying to get through security. All they wanted to know was whether I was a diver. I have to agree, though--time to buy a new belt. With that much travel, it could be ANYWHERE. Worst case scenario, she ends up with two.TPM Sister #

I know that when my boyfriend had his in his bag they got all hot and bothered, and practically jumped all over the place searching it. They said next time to wear them over his shoulder and run them separately through the screener. So I'd say that yes, they can Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. crotalus01 0 #11 July 6, 2007 Best of luck man. Lufthansa lost my bag with all my clothes in it on a flight from Amsterdam to Israel last year. I couldn't get anyone on the phone to help, people at the airport were fuckheads, one of the worst airline experiences I have ever had. Finally I got an Israeli hotel clerk to call since he could speak Hebrew. I got my bag back the day before my departure flight back to the States (2 full weeks after arriving). Then they lost it again on the way back.... As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD...
