My one cutaway was under a spining mal on a sabre2 190. I was suprised that it could happen under this large of a canopy and how strong the g's were.

Yes, any canopy can have a spinning malfunction, from a little to a lot, but the lighter the wing loading, the slower it should spin for any given malfunction. A light wing loading should have a hard time spinning you up uncontrollably, like some of the really bad mals you may have read or heard about.

I have been briskly spun a couple of times on a Sabre2 190 and once on my Safire 189... both loaded lightly at 1.1. In all cases I was able to correct/counter the spin and/or get the end cells to inflate before any significant speed built up. YMMV.
