Kdeliass 0 #1 June 11, 2007 I did my first three jumps last week. It was amazing, and all I can think about now is to get back up in the air.. I feel unhappy without skydiving I just had this terrible weekend.. I had to work, and at the same time the weather outside was stunning, and there was full activity at the dropzone. I was so mad! Next opportunity for me to jump, is on sunday.. Its an eternity Are you guys feeling it this way? How do you deal with it.. Ive become a junkie
monkycndo 0 #2 June 11, 2007 Sorry, there is no cure. But the treatment is to jump, pack, repeat. You will forever see the sky just a little differently then before. Now it's called a playground. 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity

riggerrob 643 #11 June 12, 2007 No worries, you can quit any time. For example, 15 years ago, I quit my day time job because they wouldn't give me weekends off. Then I worked at a series of skydiving schools and parachute factories. I work an average of 9.5 hours per day, six days a week, eleven months of the year at a DZ, teaching on sunny days and sewing on rainy days. My days off are spent goofing off on dz.com. I earned a journalism diploma for the sole goal of publishing articles in magazines like: CANPARA, Parachutist, Skydiving, etc. My last vacation was at a parachute riggers' convention. My next vacation will include visits with friends who work at other DZs. When I win the lottery, I plan to take a summer vacation in a country that has tall cliffs ... The remainder of my lottery winnings will be spent on a Cessna pimped out with wing tip extensions, in-flight door, souped-up engine, etc. I am debating whether to devote next winter to completing my commercial pilot license or aircraft maintenance engineer license. ... not sure whether I would prefer fixing jump planes or flying them ... Who am I kidding? I love flying jump planes! But I am not addicted, because I can quit skydiving any time I want.

freeflyit 0 #13 June 13, 2007 >>No worries, you can quit any time. There should be an AA group for recovering skydiving addicts. I could just hear something like "it ruined every aspect of my life, all I could think about was skydiving...it got to the point where I didn't eat so I could just do one more jump!" quade 4 #14 June 13, 2007 Quote Are you guys feeling it this way? How do you deal with it.. Ive become a junkie Big fires burn out quickly. If you feel the same way a few years from now, you're living at the drop zone in a tent, working for the drop zone, doing anything you can to get into the air including foregoing medical insurance . . . THEN you might have a problem. Until then, I wouldn't worry about it too much.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
