superstu 0 #1 May 17, 2007 Have you been hurt skydiving? Hurt i'll define as something that has kept you from jumping, or should have kept you from jumping but you were just too damn stuburn to admit it. for me...not yet (knock on wood) sorry if this is a re-pollSlip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down

kaustik 3 #3 May 17, 2007 I got hurt once. It wasn't THAT bad. I would suggest, however, that you don't deploy your pilot chute under your arm. The future belongs to those of us still willing to get our hands dirty.

airtwardo 7 #7 May 17, 2007 DZO's daughter broke my heart once, had to quit jumping for a while or get shot. Does that count? ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

jakee 1,489 #9 May 17, 2007 No I haven't. I did, however, badly sprain my ankle kicking a football for one of the DZO's dogs. Kept me on the ground for three weeks and it took between 18 months and 2 years before I had the full range of motion back on that foot. Do you want to have an ideagasm? bob.dino 1 #11 May 17, 2007 Nope. I've had my ego crushed, and I've aggravated injuries sustained in other endeavors, but so far a combination of luck and judgment have kept me free of serious damage.

countzero 7 #14 May 17, 2007 banged both knees pretty hard on a rough off landing. kept jumping the rest of the day. my knees stiffened up real bad during the night and i spent the next week limping. i was back jumping 2 weeks later, after most of the stiffness was gone with my knees wrapped by Ace bandages. probably should have not kept jumping that day and stayed on the ground longer. oh well.diamonds are a dawgs best friend
DougH 270 #15 May 17, 2007 Not yet, but I had a landing or two when I first starting jumping that should have hurt me. Downwinder, panic stab, going back up, damn this is going to hurt, SLAM TUMBLE TUMBLE TUMBLE. And the other day I caught a real bad down draft from a rotor and dropped from about 20 feet, my ankle was sore but it would have been way way worse if the ground wasn't so soft!"The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Steve_Lewis 0 #17 May 17, 2007 Yes: tore the ligaments on the outside of my ankle. It was my 8th jump and I was on a 290 (having done the first seven on 230 or 260!) That was four months off doing anything!
fugozzie 0 #18 May 17, 2007 Hit the door on exit during a 10 way speed start had a burse that went from my belly button to my spine. Tired to jump again and it was excruciating. Sat the rest of the day out and started cooking bbq.

IBTOMP 0 #22 May 17, 2007 Never hurt jumping...just landing Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely and in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "Holy sh1t...what a ride!"
