Trae 1 #30 May 17, 2007 in reply to "I could have thought he was 18 years old if I weren't looking at him. That even more impressed me. He is who I want to be when I am old and grey haired." .............................................. Wouldn't be young again for quids. Young people are so stupid() they don't realise that old is what'll happen to them if they manage to survive. I feel sorry for the young people on DZ's that are so caught up in their youth that they can't see that they're already actin 'old' by being locked in their agist attitudes. In my 30's one of my best friends was a 70 year bloke who could stand up to any-one on this planet. What he had lived through would've killed or neutered most modern millies. Seeing how he charged through his day constantly discarding the age myth was truly inspring. His best advice ? Do something everyday to improve yourself . Over a life-time you'll be amazed what even a stupid young person can achieve if given the time, inclination and encouragement. Shyte..... there I've gone getting older again. popsjumper 2 #34 May 17, 2007 Hey! Parsley is coo! Add a few sprigs to your "mushrooms in spaghetti sauce" and it gives some color contrast when the mushrooms make you puke before they kick in. Warning to all the youngsters out there: Do not...Do NOT attempt raw mushroom caps on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If you just have to do it, stay off the carpet. BelskyBlueEyes 0 #36 May 17, 2007 I turn 40 in October, and have just STARTED skydiving, still in AFF. The funny thing is everyone thinks I am 27. It is bizarre, that has been the magic number they have guessed all these years. I dont know what I will do when someone finally guesses me at 29 or 30 something, Ive been 27 for 12 years! Thank you mom and dad for the strong genes that keep us looking young! (they dont look their age either!)
steve1 5 #37 May 18, 2007 If it weren't for all this cool new gear, us old farts wouldn't still be jumping. So, I'm grateful for that. I often hang out with those who are 30 years younger. I sometimes have trouble keeping up, but it keeps me young in trying. There aren't many activities where an old guy can pretend to be a young SwashBuckler again. So, I'm just really glad that I returned to this great sport.....Steve1

Once you step out the door, it's all Physics. Now, if we had to pedal or flap or something to get to altitude, I'd definitely be sitting under a tree with a cold one watching the youngsters._____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... itllclear 1 #41 May 20, 2007 Just got home from a couple of multi-point 20 ways, on which @ 58 I was far from the oldest. At least one over 80, 2 over 70, and another 3 over 60. Most of the group has been jumping together for over 20 years. We still get together every 3 weeks or so for 3 or 4 jumps. A few of the other regulars, one over 80, a couple over 70, and a few over 60 weren't with us for various reasons today Blue Skies! Harry"Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
JohnMitchell 16 #42 May 20, 2007 I hit 50 next month. I'm still having a great time in the sport. So many other guys my age are all getting fat and bored. You don't quit skydiving because you get old, you get old because you quit skydiving.
steve1 5 #43 May 21, 2007 It's not easy pretending to be a SwashBuckler any more. I doubt if I am fooling anyone these days. A new jumper came up to me the other day and asked if I was the pilot. I quickly snapped back with, "hell no, I'm a jumper." A while back I saw a couple of other old farts gearing up. I kept thinking those two, shouldn't be jumping, they're just too old. Upon talking to them I found out that both of them were two years younger than I am. Did I already tell that story? I forget!......Steve1
