Is "blade running" still around... downhill skiing with chutes?

Recommended Posts

I did not see any special section, di not know if there were regular spots for this>

If so anyone know any slopes in the NC / Beech and sugar area where this is going on?

Also any FAQ's or information resources?

Thanks
you want me to do what???

Paraski is a combination of slalom skiing and classic accuracy jumping onto a slope. Separate events, you do not fly your canopy with ski's on. Which to me always sounded silly :)

But paraski has nothing to do with bladerunning etc.

Over in Europe they're calling it speed-flying or speed-riding. if you look for speed flying on youtube you find lots of good stuff, like speed flying down the eiger.

here's a more beginner slope, although somebody died here doing this a couple of months back.

A friend of mine has a limp and operation scars that run from his ankle to his hip. He got all that from competing at blade running years earlier.

I love to ski, but I don't think I'd ever try this sport. It looks like a great way to get busted up bad. I don't think the sport is meant for old farts anyhow!....Steve1
