DZJ 0 #1 October 12, 2004 Hi all, I'm familiar with AFF and RAPS, but was wondering what AFP and IAD stand for and how the training works. I've never encountered the last two in Britain, are they USPA systems?
BIGUN 1,314 #2 October 12, 2004 AFP = Advanced Freefall Progression. Three tandems, then FJC, then depending on how the student did can move towards AFF Cat C or D on their fourth jump. There's more to it in the USPA SIMS. IAD = Instructor Assisted Deployment - basically the same as static-line, however, the instructor hold the students pilot chute and throws it aft when the student releases the strut.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
