jamie_smoove 0 #1 February 27, 2007 Well, my club unfortunately closes for 4 months over the winter, and due to work commitments i wasnt able to get back to the UK or anywhere else to jump during that period. Theyre re-opening this weekend, so gonna jump for the first time since. Im only an A-certificate holder with 30 jumps, so I intend to whack out a few solos and fun jumps to get the excitement and relaxation flowing again. I had a slightly shorter lay-off last summer(damn military love to mess with my social life!!), and when I jumped again I was nervous as hell, and I was rigid as a board when I jumped, and I dont really want to be like that again. I had a pretty good body position just before this lay off, I was sarting to plough through some WARP training, and I was calm throughout. However, I think it might be different this weekend. So anyone got any advice to try and prevent or calm nerves and help the skydive go a bit better than last time?!! Cheers JB

Hayfield 0 #3 February 27, 2007 My instructors always told me to: 1. Breathe deeply 2. Try to smile 3. Remember this is fun. Always helped me a bit and that's when i was scared shitless during my first couple of AFF jumps. jumpdr 0 #4 February 28, 2007 Hey Jamie, We were actually open last weekend too, but the weather wasn't great and Larnaca kept putting us on hold and suspending VFR! I'm on call this weekend (which means I can't jump) so no spanking in or I'll be the one who has to come and scrape you off the ground! You may also be interested to hear that the rudder cable has snapped twice on the aircraft in the last week or two, so you might want to think twice... Maybe see you up there..
