shermanator 4 #26 January 17, 2007 it really is not that hard to go 130+ on belly. My exit weight is 190, and I can easily fall at 132 avg. faster if i arch hard and go small. .. if he is 200+exit weight, i could see him going fast. .. Good job on staying altitude away, and alive. I'm not qualified, so won't hound you on why it is important to dive the plan, etc. ect. that has already been done. Good luck on your next jumps!CLICK HERE! new blog posted 9/21/08 CSA #
damion75 0 #27 January 17, 2007 QuoteSo, you do not really know what your real speed was then. Just an estimation from your instructors. I bet it was not faster than 125-130 mph. However it is not that important as FF sequence itself. Did your instructors ever tell you what to do if you found yourself alone in FF? I am sure yes, but you never told us what exactly they told you to do. (point me, if I miss somesing) Please, let us know. Dude, you are missing something. There is a whole other thread relating to this jump and all the details that you are after are in that. I forget the name but it is in this forum. As for freefall speed, there are far more factors involved than just the exit weight of the individual. It is also not a competition so relax!! Higher freefall speeds are not necessarily a good thing as you may find it harder to slow yourself down enough to effectively jump with others which could limit your choice of disciplines. In any event, have fun and blue skies! Tonto 1 #28 January 17, 2007 Quoteit really is not that hard to go 130+ on belly. Agreed. My belly range is 105 - 165 in a Long sleeve T and Bird-man Pantz. I'm 165 - 5'11". As an AFF instructor I think 100 - 200 should be within (At least hand signal) range in a single outfit. Reading the post, it sounds like a bit of a clusterfuck. 1. No dress for success 2. Flying through the "Cone of death" above the student 3. L side losing student while blocking R side. Pretty bad. tIt's the year of the Pig.
floridadiver81 0 #29 January 17, 2007 I was instructed during ground school to pull when no instructors were present..but everything happened so fast that pulling wasnt a thought and the confidence of falling stable kinda was absorbed by my mind!"Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! Suavel 0 #30 January 17, 2007 AFF students are told to pull their parachute immediately in the event that they find themselves alone. That's sort of the source of the whole original thread and argument and apology. Edit: I'm just glad I was Static Line!

Lokhmaty 0 #32 January 17, 2007 Quote I was instructed during ground school to pull when no instructors were present Bingo! Isn't it a key instruction in your skydive? Quote it really is not that hard to go 130+ on belly. The problem is, I think, you know how to get fast practically. AFF students probably know the same thing, but theoretically. It is different. Quote Dude, you are missing something. Yes, I do miss the whole thing, dude... QuoteAs for freefall speed, there are far more factors involved than just the exit weight of the individual. It is also not a competition so relax!! I totally understand that. Just trying to mix this knowledge up. QuoteIn any event, have fun and blue skies! Thank you. P.S. I am trying to look at the subject from heights of mine tiny experience and analyze it in order not to do anything stupid in the future! I, personally, made a huge mistake once. I learned my lesson and wanted to learn from others. Blue skies, everyone!
