JohnMitchell 16 #11 December 17, 2006 There was an AN-2 sitting at the Auburn airport in Washington for several years. I heard the guy was having a hard time getting FAA approval to do anything with it. Does anyone know how or if the AN-2 is certified to fly in the U.S.? Eule 0 #15 December 18, 2006 QuoteDoes anyone know how or if the AN-2 is certified to fly in the U.S.? This article was written in 1996, but at least at that time, you could only land an AN-2 back at your chosen base airport, and you couldn't jump from one on purpose. (See the section near the bottom, "There's Only One Problem: the FAA Doesn't Like An-2s".) This may have changed since then; I don't know. EulePLF does not stand for Please Land on Face.
