tbrown 26 #101 December 7, 2006 Not with other jumpers. I'll tell a whuffo I'm getting close to 800, but to another jumper it's 779 and won't slide to 780 until I make the next one. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
sfullerman 0 #102 December 8, 2006 Yes I have. Back in 1982 I was about 5 jumps short of the required 50 to attend the Nationals boogie. Padded my logbook to show the required number.....a couple days into the boogie me and my brother asked the guy at manifest if he knew of any other low time jumpers who might want to make a load. He gets on the PA, and in a few minutes theres 5-6 jumpers standing around. Someone suggested that we go around the circle and tell everyone our jump numbers. All the others were throwing out numbers like 150 - 190 - 220......when it came to my turn, I just couldn't say "56...so I lied and said "67!" Smooth huh? brianfry713 0 #104 December 8, 2006 QuoteA little off topic, but when can I start signing my own jumps. Is it C or D, cause that seems to be the hardest part of logging to me. I've heard that with a D you can sign them yourself, but I don't see that specifically in the SIM. After you get a D, the only reason you'd need a logbook is to get a rating, award, or to verify currency. I usually just have them signed a bunch at a time, either by a friend or my roomate. I'll have my girlfriend sign them in the future though. I haven't seen anyone refuse to sign because they didn't actually witness the jump. I'll sign a bunch of yours if you want, because I like writing my name and license number.
