Tito.J 0 #1 November 28, 2006 I finished up my training at Skydive The Ranch here in New York! It was a gift day, weather wasn't so cold (around 40F to start then went up to about 55 in the afternoon). Sunny, totally clear, winds about 3 MPH. What else can a skydiver wish for I am so happy to have finished, I did my last 3 jumps of the training on that day. Many thanks to Pete and Zak for their wonderful instructions and fun times. And thanks to everyone at The Ranch for being so friendly and just awesome people. My last jump was scary, it was my first solo exit from the Otter, Pete was only going to be an expectator jumping with me. I did two barrel rolls and then tracked for a bit. I exited the plane so unstable and ended up on my back, but quickly regained control after relaxing and arching. It was a wonderful dive, but after the third dive of that day, I was so exhausted so I went home. The next day I woke up with all kind of aches LOL, I guess due to the landings, parachute openings, and overall twisting my body in mid air so much to regain stability. But it's all good. Can't wait for next week. I hope we have such wonderful weather as we had on that day. So there it is, I am officially a soloer Blue skies, ~Tito P.S. Forgot to mention. I started with a 280 rig, then on the second I went down to 260, then down to 240. They all felt comfortable. I think I'll try a 220 next week. I stand at 140 LBS with 5' 6" height. I think I could go lower with no problems. I landed well on all so far, except my mid air turns were quicker (of course) with the 240. That got me a bit of a funny gut feeling because I felt like I was going to turn around upside down with my canopy. Can I still turn many times with a 220 with no problems?
