Freefly for Corporate team building??

Recommended Posts

attached is a picture I scanned from the September 6, 2005 National Post newpaper here in Canada from an article by Derek Sankey. It's almost a half page picture of 5 guys heads down freeflying (copyright Getty Images).

As you can see the picture title states "Team Building: The heights companies go to". The subtitle, which I couldn't fit in the scan is "Team building exercises these days include skydiving. The infusion of adventure into the workplace is a huge benefit for promoting creativity and team cohesion."

The article states "Britain's Key Adventures, for example, offers everything from parachuting in teams.....and other extreme sports meant to foster team development".

Whoa!! Going from tug-of-war to heads down freefly - thats some serious team building! (I realize some companies do static line and IAD type jumps with staff and the freefly picture is just a hook. But hey, it got my attention)

I wondered what it meant by "parachuting in teams" (the side with the most survivors wins? :S) so I quickly checked the Key Adventures web site but didn't find anything about skydiving or parachuting. I may have missed something because I did check only quickly.

Anyway, I thought it'd be funny if any of you owners/managers etc where your staff knows you skydive, to walk into the lunch room, post this article with it's huge heads down freefly picture, walk out saying nothing and let your (probably) wuffo staff sweat it out for a while.

It's all about the tunnel time baby!
