adamwsmith6580 0 #1 August 16, 2006 Hi there, I'm wanting to start an AFF course, but I'm worried about weight/ height restrictions. I'm 6' 6" (200cm) and 231lbs (105kg). Will this be a problem. I've heard that 90 kgs is a limit? Cheers

brianfry713 0 #3 August 16, 2006 Call the local DZ and ask to make sure they can accommodate you.

Reginald 0 #5 August 16, 2006 Many DZ's have a 210lb to 220lb weight limit. Call your local DZ and talk to them. A few of the big boyz (270+) doing AFF needed special gear that only a few DZ's had."We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things." CP
Danne 0 #6 August 16, 2006 Depends on the DZ´s gear. We can take up to 115 kilos at my DZ (Sweden). /D
Sockpuppet 0 #7 August 16, 2006 As well as the weight limit its if you can "handle" your weight. as you are very tall I'd say your not overly bulky (i.e. short and fat) so shouldnt be an issue. ------ Two of the three voices in my head agree with you. It might actually be unanimous but voice three only speaks Welsh.
adamwsmith6580 0 #8 August 16, 2006 yeah, I'll have to make some calls and see what the DZ's say. Hopefully I'll find an accomodating one nearby! Thanks everybody,
kelpdiver 2 #9 August 16, 2006 if you put your location in your profile people might be able to help you along. Most gear is rated to 254lbs, and won't be suitable for you. Perris had at least one rig good for a higher weight, though they charged a bit more to use it.
BIGUN 1,399 #10 August 17, 2006 Probably not. Exit weight should be around 254#. With your height (same as mine) you should maintain a normal fall rate. But, like others suggest, call the DZ.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
kelpdiver 2 #11 August 17, 2006 23lbs for his student rig and clothing? Seems 10lbs light.
