Lindsey 0 #1 July 16, 2006 So here's the skinny. My ex and I both skydive. He's a TM and wants to take our 9 y/o son tandem. Jay weighs 70 pounds. For now I've said absolutely not, but Jay wants to know "when?" For now I say no because tandem gear was just not designed for 70 pound passengers, and since he's a child and still growing, the risks associated with breaking bones is too high. So for folks who actually know something about tandem gear and tandem jumping, what are your thoughts about size, age and going tandem. linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. dragon2 2 #2 July 16, 2006 We take kids from 10 years and up at our DZ, with some kids from 6 years or so (dz kids). We have 2 small harnesses, so if they fit and if they really want to go (and not being pushed by parents for instance) they can. Taking a kid for a tandem jump is a difficult jump for the T/M though, with more risks of a sidespin or ending up on your back. So our beginner T/M's can't take kids. Every kid I ever saw jumping LOVED it ciel bleu, Saskia
