If you could design the perfect rig...

Lighter, lower pack volume.

Better colours & patterns (maybe transparent... that would cause a stir or irredecent, like a dragon fly wing)

More comfortable harness... like my PG one (laid back) - better weight shift
Ability to do ACRO (SAT, Loop, full tumbles etc..)

Cheaper.

speaking of transparent, anyone remember that rig that was made several years ago, don't remember exactly how many, perhaps late 90's... It WAS transparent, for demonstration purposes... but not jumpable... i think it was displayed at a symposium or something... maybe it was a javelin? i don't know... I just remember seeing the pics in one of the mags... anyone remember?

Yes. I'm pretty sure it was a Javelin, but I don't remember all of the details.

Yep, saw it at the BPA AGM this year. The whole container, mudflaps and legstrap covers were clear plastic. Looked absolutely bizzare.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Go, on tell me why they are over rated.

He thinks they are overrated because he heard someone say so. No one wants to be confused with facts these days. (and he jumps a Javelin):P:)

I certainly would like to hear why he -- or anyone else -- think they are overraterd as well... I bought one, and I happen to really like it. I have heard great things as well about their customer service but haven't experienced it first hand yet.

I have heard a couple complaints from dz packers about the location of the main closing loop, that the wished it were located at the bottom of the container, (like the mirage?), instead of at the top of the main tray. I don't know if this is a problem or not, doesn't seem to be...

Some people just like what other jumpers that are better than them say is cool.

The wings is an awesome container and not over priced like Javelin or mirage.
I have jumped them all and the only reason i would get any other container over a Wings is a jav for the back pad spacer foam.

can skyhooks be attached to any rig? either during the manufacture of a new one or as a mod to an existing one?

No. A Relative Workshop Vector 3 can be retrofitted or ordered new with one. No other brand of container can have a skyhook added.

Small, Medium, and Large.....

With a vacuum system to adhere to an individuals shape for the perfect fit every time.:).
.

It’s already been done, vacuum sealed. Simula out of Tempe AZ makes the Thin Pack or Dura Pack. One problem, vacuum sealing makes it hard as a rock.:P
My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

About skyhooks...
I've heard that relative workshop would maybe allow other manufacturers to use their concept... heard anything about that?

I believe Bill Booth (owner of RWS) is on record as saying it'll happen eventually, but I wouldn't hold your breath for it to be anytime soon.

His reasons:

- Commercial advantage
- If it's licenced & the licenced version fails/kills people, he wants to make sure that it's not the idea of the Skyhook that gets blamed.

What about some kind of memory foam? Tighten up your straps and let the rig contour to your body shape? Perfect fit each time...

http://www.memory-mattress.co.uk/about_memory_foam.html

Or possibly something like a self inflating foam camping mat that you can inflate once you've got the rig on (altough possibly effected by pressure at altitude or may effect ability to arch)...
