Unfortunatly america is the home of the sue happy, and well the DZ's have to cover their asses. Just be prepaired to take an extra 10 min or so, could be longer depending on the number of people there at the same time...to sign waviers. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
Trae 1 #11 May 29, 2006 in reply to " What is Wavier?" ....................... Basically signing your life away ...saying no matter what happens you won't hold anyone but yourself responsible for any injuries, loss or death . Apparently the waiver can be beat ....you would have to prove that grossly negligent acts caused your injuries , death etc..

matt1215 0 #13 May 29, 2006 Hmmm, I guess I'll be doing a video-waiver before too long . Seems like overkill to me, but with weekends like this one; DZ's gotta do what they gotta do to cover their asses. Lots of activity on the incidents board . UntamedDOG 0 #16 May 29, 2006 QuoteDon't sign it.... I have never signed a waiver to skydive. Even Perris lets me jump without one. As the Conatser’s most trusted advisor, they just don’t find it necessary. The jokes on them. If I get hurt, I’m suing their ass! UntamedDOG

Then again, maybe they do it there too . Perris and Elsinore do it - I believe prompted by a particularly lame lawsuit against Snore where the guy claimed he thought he was signing 'something' to get video of his jump. None of the Bay Area DZs do it. But in terms of hassle, the videoing didn't take any longer than Monterey's waiver filled in duplicate (might be city requirement for second copy).
