colesmom 0 #1 May 4, 2006 As a surprise, I want to take my husband to do his first tandem jump for Father's Day. His mother seems to think he can't do it since he had an operation when he was young to repair a blown eardrum (mastoid). Anybody know if he can still jump? Thanks for any help! bigway 4 #2 May 4, 2006 I do not think so. Someone would clarify it for you though. If he can not, a static line could be an option for him. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

incode 0 #4 May 4, 2006 i cant tell you for sure but my ex blew an ear drum skydiving and she still jumps with no problems now, but i suggest that they go see a doctor before to get the best responce
 HimHim 0 #5 May 4, 2006 I blew an eardrum years ago, as a result of jumping while I had a head cold. It took four days to finally rupture, and was very painful for a couple of weeks. My hearing in that ear took months to get back to normal, but I have been skydiving, and SCUBA diving actively for 30 years, and 12 years respectively, and have had no residual effects. That being said, absolutely ask your ENT; and opt for a static-line (much lower altitude) if (s)he won't bless it.Sundance: (chuckling) "You just keep thinkin' Butch...that's what yer good at."
