philly51 0 #5 May 6, 2006 Sounds like you're dropping the whole leg, or at least trying to. Just drop your knee by bringing it slightly up toward your chest. Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, Shouting "...holy shit...what a ride!" Trae 1 #6 May 6, 2006 in reply to " but i'm having a hard time in dropping the leg without bending at the waist," ............................................. Stretch them muscles....The body position you adopt in freefall is not commonly used elsewhere . A specific combination of muscles is used that often don't get a work-out anywhere else. back to basics. You can familiarise yourself with the position and loosen up your muscles a bit on the cheap by simply lying stomach down on a bed or the ground. Once in the possy you can gradually stretch the muscles you'll be using getting used to this new position until it gets more comfortable. For your legs turns try simply stretching out each leg by itself keeping your foot in the air ... pushing out with your heels... In the stretched out possy try rotating your feet in both directions. relax well between each stretch . Over time your body will familiarise itself with the movements and you can translate this new found body (leg / hip ) control into freefall control. You could get in a pool and do something similar....try a wet suit for flotation aid. This is a nice way to limber up and practise all those moves . Playing hackky is also a good way to loosen up prior to a jump. Being flexible and strong will help you heaps in your freefall ambitions. Have fun. bob.dino 1 #7 May 8, 2006 QuoteAny ideas? Yoga. It'll loosen you up through the hip flexors - a place where guys are notoriously stiff. It'll make a world of difference.
