Beer for my instructors?

Recommended Posts

Buy your beer after you finish AFF... Then after any goal or first time doing anything....

Buy stock in (Insert beer company here) <<<

Also for the rigger whos reserve pack job saved you.
It would probably be a good idea to bring beer each weekend just in case you get a first.;)

What darkwing said, and the real rule is first time you do anything, it's a case of beer to the dz,
first jump, first cutway, first broken leg, first off dz landing, ect. you get the point.
And if your at a cool dz they will let you drink a few.:P

Don't buy them beer. They get paid to do their jobs.

If all you want to do is learn your AFF skills, don't buy them beer. They won't even notice. But if you want to integrate yourself into the DZ community and keep getting quality mentoring as a newbie, a little extra lubrication goes along way.
(The rest of you pigs: shut up. I'm referring to beer.)

Technically once you grad AFF is when you buy a case

No "technically" he would owe one for his first jump.
Or even if he had a cutaway on jump 3, being a grad has nothing to do with it, where you new kids today get your info from is beyond me,this is a old tradition, why do all the newbies keep trying to change the rules to suit their needs.B|

FYI- there is no 1000 jump rule for getting out of the tradition!

The f-word, LOL. I am so bad about that. I am always exclaiming, "I've never done THAT before!" and all my friends look at me and yells at me. LOL. Thankfully, everything is so new, it still ends up being one case a visit :) And I like getting my friends drunk, so I'd probably buy beer even if I didn't have to.

I am sure you have noticed that laws change with new generations in all things in life.

When you owe beer, you should be putting a jump ticket down at the bar. One jump ticket at our bar will get you around 14 beers. There is always more than one shout on a saturday to make sure everyone gets one.:P

it amazes me the people(who seem to be a few people who feel the need to say it on every thread on the subject) who feel this way. Are these the same people who , at a bar, drink the shots YOU buy, but never buy a round for anyone else? Who will take the drink you buy them at the bar, but never offer to buy you one? Who come to the party empty handed, but eat all the food and drink all the beer they want?? Not someone I want to be friends with, for sure.

Even tho it is tradition, even tho they do all joking demand it as I haphazardly throw the "f" word around, the instructors, pilots, manifest, and everyone at the dz always thank me when I deliver my cases of beer. And even tho the enthusiastic "we LIKE having you here, you can come whenever you want" was said in jest....I know it has helped me feel at home at the dz. I couldn't imagine not buying my beer....thankfully as I owe more and more beer, the jumps are getting cheaper :D
