NlghtJumper 0 #26 April 22, 2006 I guess on top of everything that everyone has said already about leaving your problems behind, I also love the freedom it gives you. You can move your body in ways that you would never be able to on the ground. I am very new to the sport, just finished up my AFF a little while ago and I was also completely hooked after my first tandem. There is nothing more stimulating than jumping. Most of my friends dont understand why I am so "crazy" to keep jumping. And all I tell them is it is a feeling like no other. There is no way to explain it exactly. You have to experiance it to understand. Anyway, Welcome and good luck in your AFF! I hope you have as much fun as I did! ~Blue Skies~ Tweek A man will do anything for the right woman, and when that woman destroys him, that man will become a hunk of meat with the common sense of a rodeo clown! ~ Christopher Titus
psipike02 0 #27 April 23, 2006 I love the response I get from people when I tell them I'm a skydiver and the sense of pride as well. This is an uncommon sport to participate in. So when people ask me about it or ask me to take them to the DZ so they can do a tandem, that makes me happy....I have successfully taken 25 of my fraternity brothers to do tandems now and even more are wanting to... Also, I am as new as you are. I did my AFF last summer and and at the end of my coach jumps (had to take a 5 month break due to weather), but I'm looking forward to learning everything I can about it. It's also nice to have people who actually wanna teach you everything they know and get just as much joy out of seeing you jump and succeed as you jumping yourself. It also kicks ass, but that was implied... Good luck with your AFF and keep us updated with how everything is going!!Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
aheavenlytiger 0 #28 April 27, 2006 I'm still a newbie too, but I do it simply because I love it. I really is my "Control Alt Delete" reset mechanism. Normally at this point in a semester (right before finals) I'm pretty close to a nervous breakdown with all the stress. I was planning for it this semester too, since I'm graduating in a couple weeks, but it hasn't been there. I've been very relaxed with everything in my life really, since I started. A HUGE plus for me- my migraines essentially disappeared. I used to get pretty rough ones at least bi-weekly, minor ones every few days, but since I started skydiving, I can very happily say that I haven't gotten a single one.
