i97426 0 #1 April 1, 2006 In the April issue of Skydiving, there is an artical about an operator having a $6,600.00 fine imposed by the FAA for jumping through clouds. Does anyone know what FAA region this happened in?
tombuch 0 #2 April 1, 2006 The FSDO is in Texas, but the DZ is outside of the coverage area of that FSDO. Strange story. More detail will probably come out in time. For a bit more detail about cloud violations and the new regulations, see the S&TA part of The Ranch web site at: http://theblueskyranch.com/STA.php Read article 13, "FAA Regulations" and article 19 "Jumping Through Clouds." Both articles discuss the same issue addressed in the Skydiving story. .Tom Buchanan Instructor Emeritus Comm Pilot MSEL,G Author: JUMP!
