mr2mk1g 10 #26 February 27, 2006 When I was in Kolomna over the summer, my understanding was they were only mandatory at Kolomna, not Russia as a whole. In fact some CRW guys out there with us got the go-ahead to not use any AAD's in their rigs.
xara 0 #27 February 27, 2006 QuoteQuotenorway: required for students, optional for others. If you don't have one, you must have an RSL.. (if you have one, an RSL is not mandatory) What about if you're doing crw, not a good idea to have either, in my opinion, when doing crw? AADs are required for students, A certificate and tandems, and for everyone else who hasn't got an RSL. There are no exceptions for CRW afaik, but then again - very few people actually do CRW here. I do agree with you that I wouldn't want to use RSL when doing CRW, but why would an AAD be so bad? The only thing I can think of is when doing very advanced tricks like two people doing a downplane at low altitude... (I know very little of CRW; the only time I've even seen it was in Kolomna, Russia last summer...)-xara- I want a skydiving elevator!!!

speedy 0 #30 February 28, 2006 QuoteQuoteQuoteRequired in Australia until you have your D. An AAD is required until D licence, and between D & E (500 jumps), either an AAD or an RSL is required. What if you're doing CRW? I wouldn't want either in that case. An AAD like cypres would not bother me one bit when doing CRW. A RSL on the other hand would be a definate "no way".
