What is your field of work?

Recommended Posts

Sir, there is. I was a QA&T project lead for a major corporation in Chicago. There is a good market for your skills. I switched companys and went back to being a Sr. Analyst. But the framework that I picked up in QA was awesome and will carry me far.

Air traffic control, for the FAA. Great job, we're all retiring, lots of openings in the next 5 years. Our employer sucks at the way they're treating us right now, but that will change.

Mind, I was never in any branch of military, so I don't know what boot is like, but I do have a couple of friends that went through.

Basic isnt bad. It is actually fun if you can stand it. Yeah, you are going to be doing push ups from sun up to sun down. But you get so use to it that after the first 3 weeks and out of white phase, you can do them like its nothing. I loved basic.

I train and show horses for people in a discipline called 3 day eventing. So most if not all the characteristics needed for skydiving are also present in my career of choice. I think the ability to think clearly, make quick decisions and face your fears in high pressure situations are some of the most important characteristics to have in my line of work.

I did Service Assurance for 4 years before moving into training.

Some companies in the US take it VERY seriously.

I work with a catalyst company in the refineries. But am also an EMT. Have to have experience to back up those OSHA Safety Classes you know, where I can actually make some money doing Safety work in the refineries. You guys know the one person everyone hates. Oh well someone has to do it and it might as well be me since it pays good.. That will give me more $ to jump with...:P

Ron,What do you instruct over there?

Everything from New Hire, to Dangerous Goods spill Cleanup and Aircraft Weight and Balance. Except Tractor Trailer driving. I am not qualified to drive an 18 wheeler so I can't teach it.

Today I am teaching a guy on how to teach Aircraft Ground Support.....Hence the ability to post whore.;)

And when needed I work at the Local DZ as an AFF or Tandem guy.

Other. I'm currently an unemployed college freshman with no clue what field I will pursue after I graduate.

Good for you! Hang in there. It's never too late to start, and it will pay off in the end. It took me like 15 years to get through school, because I was really short on cash, but I'm glad I did it. The job I have now sure beats the hell out of falling timber for a living (which I did prior).

I now have a cushie job as a school counselor. Being an X juvenile-delinquent, seems to help in this profession....Steve1

Mine would be an "other" - I do communications support for the military here on Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo. I'm one of those mercenary contractors... :P

I make sure all the voice / data circuits get from one camp to another - troops can't deploy without phone, email and AFN TV, don't ya know!! ;)
