RWS Tandem Video Waiver

Recommended Posts

Quote

I'm sure you are aware by now that the current exemption has been replaced by the new FAA Part 105 on July 9. 2001. Please use the new Tandem Assumption of Risk Agreement, starting on that date. Please dispose of all copies of the old waiver to insure you don't accidentally use it in the future. Your existing video waiver tape is still okay, if you are using the "latest" version, which mentions the expected change in the exemption status.

Has anybody received a new copy of the RWS video that recognizes tandem is no longer experimental, or are all DZ’s still using the old version?

Last I heard, RWS wasn't very excited about making a new video, since it is fairly expensive to do, thus we haven't heard about it or seen a new one. Just the old one (that's incredibly annoying after having "accidently" seen it atleast 100 times).

I bought the new one a couple of years ago. All they did was edit out the exemption part. I guess I could have done that myself.

How expensive could it be? Set up your camera with Bill behind the desk reading the new and improved information. Leave the same footage of Ron Jr. doing his tandem. TA-DA!!!! New tandem tape! Go to Wal-mart (or better yet, Sam's club) buy a case of blank tapes and start dubbing on rainy jump days. It's not like there are thousands and thousands of DZ's to get a copy to. Heck, I'm about ready to get my Vector rating and I'd do it for a free run through the course!
