AFF L3 Question?

Hello, where in the AFF L3 do the instructors let you go? Does the student exit on their own or is it like 1 and 2 and they let you go in flight?

they will not let you go till you a freefalling in a stable position, you probably wont even notice they have let you go as they are still very close, just in case!!

They hold onto you on exit like AFF 1+2 but once stable they release you but fly next toyou on either side

Thanks guys, that's what I kind of figured, but I wanted to double check. My level 2 yesterday felt great. My level 1 was a bit rough. I hope the next few go smoother like my lvl 2 did. I'm still riding a huge high from yesterday's lvl 2.

Your 2 instructors will be with you like before. Just follow their instructions and do as briefed before. Nothing else. Relax, enjoy and fly safe!

ON my L3 my instructors were unable to slow to my freefall speed. So as soon as they let go I was on my own. But I did just fine

I backslid a little and so my reserve side instructor was visible.

It also depends on how stable you are, I was release from 11k till 6k but had done a fair amount of tunnel time.

Basically you will probably not notice if they release you or not.

I noticed cause I started doing a backloop. Although I'm still not sure if that happened when they let go or if they weren't holding me going out the door. At any rate, I just arched more and it fixed itself pretty quick.

At AFF3 you can be pretty sure, they WERE holding you at exit - if you were unsure about that.

OK. No problem. But at AFF 5, there only is one instructor holding you - and only if needed! And not at exit.

Of course I remember. It was only 1 jump ago. The instructor asked me on the plane if the instructor on the previous jump assisted me on exit and I said I didn't know. I still don't know, but that's what made me think she wasn't holding on this time.

It was very noticeable to me- I felt a lot lighter in the air. I suspect your tunnel time contributed here and you had less need for minor corrections in freefall. But losing the drag of the two (big) guys was very noticeable. Not unmanageable, but my inputs lead to turns much more easily.

I started turning when i was let go, i also got to choose which of my instructors went on which side. Overall i wouldnt worry too much, as my instructor said, you wouldnt be doing the level if they didnt think you were ready!!
