HELP NEEDED

Recommended Posts

6 foot, 42inch chest and 32 inch waist preferably, but at this stage, just around that size would be great! Also, a good level of experience would be preferable, but the main criteria for the jumps are that they have to be able to do a linked hands exit. Pretend to be a first-time skydiver and go unstable quite a bit and be comfortable with the camera quite close under canopy! Oh and male!

Well you are cheering me up at least! Shoe Polish may be the answer! Not sure how realistic a double that would be - but hey! If you will give me the brief on Monday and want it all done by Saturday and then forget to mention until later to mention the colour specifics!

I can't remember his name, but there is a highly experienced skydiver working the the skyventure arizona wind tunnel that meets your "requirements".
He seems to be a heck of a nice guy also. Bit far to travel, I guess it depends on how desparate you are.

I know a man. He's a pretty good match for those stats. He's a tandem instructor so ought to be plenty experienced enough. He'd be working normally this weekend doing tandems so prizing him away from that probably won't come cheep but then if you're filming professionally I doubt budget is going to be that much of a concern for you. If you're not them don't be surprised if he's not interested.

I shall try and track down his contact details for you.

In that case my beer money's on Andy Copland. Sorry.

Try contacting the BPA if you haven't already on 0116 278 5271

On the other hand I happened to be present at a certain DZ in America a year or two ago where they had a white guy wearing a latex mask doubling for James Earl Jones on a skydive... can be done if necessary.

When we filmed "Cutaway" we used a white jumper (Jon from Z-hills actually) to double for Dennis Rodman. They "painted" his face, neck, and arms black, then put him in a full face helmet with a tinted lens, regular jumpsuit and gloves. If you didn't know, you wouldn't know he wasn't a black skydiver. :)

I am black and I am AFF Level 5 which means I jump with one jumpmaster. You could film a jump I make. I would jump with the jumpmaster holding me and he\she would release me once I am stable. This means a JM would have to hover around me and you would have no input on the skydive. The jumpmaster will be in complete control of the skydive. At my level it would most likely be me in freefall, perhaps with some turns and then I open my parachute. The jumpmaster would be hovering around me so you would have to work that out with the film. You could write another skydiver (my jumpmaster) in the scene to be near me. If this meets your terms let me know. I will then see what JM would be willing to jump with me.

I live in Philadelphia but I have jumped at Hinton in September. This means you would have to pay for my time, a jumpmaster’s time and my airfare to London. How much are you willing to pay? I could be in London Saturday.

Cheers

Do you think with your jump numbers you could get stable as quickly as they want? To me it just seems that a more experienced person would work better.

Hi Andre - Sorry, I need someone with experience to pull off the shots. I cant see any JM being happy with allowing a student to concentrate on anything other than completing the Level requirements. I am a B Licence and still not comfortable with people being around me under canopy, let alone a camerman heading right towards me. I think it would be too dangerous to put a student on the shoot. But thank you anyway
