Must say this makes it THAT MUCH EASIER never to buy gear from you or Square One (if you still work there). ;)

With the attitude I've seen from him so far I'd have to agree with that statement.:|

If you're going to jump on the bandwagon, you probably ought to have reasons. Name them.

I could link all the posts with personal attacks that you've made, but it'd be easier for you just look at the last few posts. I'm sure Bill has pointed out at least one by now.

Personally, I try to do business with honest people.

The fact that you approve of the guy trying to pass off the expired cypres as good tells me alot about your ethics.

Find 5. Really. I'd love to see it.

You are reading a lot more into the word "Agreed" than I see.

I have no knowledge of the sellers intentions. I agreed with the fact that the seller did nothing illegal.

People with your attitude are why disagreements become shootings. Why teritorial debates become wars.

You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Fair enough.

You're pathetic.

You've shown yourself to be immature, and without simple reasoning skills.

Anyone else have a map to "Slack Valley"?

Nice going CHILD.

Grow up.

That's a pretty arrogant comment seeing as how you've never so much as heard me speak a word in your life.

Not really. I've just judged you on the same criteria you judged me. The few words you wrote today.

One of those MIGHT be considered an attack, though I think it an opinion. I'd delete it except that I feel that would be not living with the consiquences of mistakes I've made.

The others are observations.

Same criteria, but different matter.

I said that if you were a gear dealer I wouldn't buy gear from you because of your attitude.

You said that people with my attitude start wars and shoot people.

See the difference?

Personal attack or not, the comments were pretty insulting.

I had alot of respect for your opinion before this thread....

I did contact the guy. I also warned the Aussie lady that was high bidder. She didn't realise that the Cypres would've been useless - she was buying it as a birthday surprise for her husband.

Was the seller's behavious illegal? No. Unethical? Yes.

There are 2 others Cypres's for sale on eBay.

So one unit has 3 years left on it and the other has 5 (if I did the math right).

But again, neither ad mentions that these units will expire at some point. Is it the seller's responsibility to point this out?

Food for thought.

I think you're in the right on this one, kel. What the guy did wasn't illegal, but very immoral.

And yes, everyone should research crap before they buy it. But is everyone perfect? No.

and would everyone quit having childish arguements? geeezus.

Doc,

You know as well as anyone what the difference is between these with 3-5 years left on them and the one which has already expired but which information the seller chooses to withhold. One key difference is it's illegal in the US to install a unit which is expired because some one thinks it is a matter of public safety.

We are not talking about trying to hock a piddly piece of broken electronics here past the warranty period... we are talking about a potentially life-saving and potentially life-endagering device past the end-of-use period.

For those people who defend this seller, come on now. We're not saying the seller is acting illegally nor are we saying he should be put in the electric chair... we're saying he's a conniving waste of sperm and those who frown on such behavior and would lift a finger are letting potential buyers in on his scheme.

No wonder someone a while ago felt the need to write down "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." You'ld figure any idiot could have figured that one out, but apparently some people dont!

The more I listen to the things people say the more convinced I am that I'm a better person.

I know this is going to piss off some of you but I don't see anything wrong with that listing.

My argument is not about whether this is 'right' or 'wrong' but more of the legality of it.

Methinks someone is just out to stir the pot. This thread IS about whether this is 'right' or 'wrong'. The people posting to it are hoping to prevent someone being taken advantage of.

What are you hoping to accomplish?

In other words, now that he's been outed as a scoundrel, instead of slinking away in shame as he should, he's suddenly gotten religion.
I'm not impressed.

We all make mistakes.

As such, we must all allow room for redemption when redemption is due.

The seller has corrected that which we thought was wrong.

Give him that.

Your post is destructive, not productive like the rest of this thread was.
