Which Suunto looks better and has better visibility?

I'm buying a Suunto Vector watch.
Before the flamming starts:
1) I need a watch
2) I like how it looks
3) I'll be using it for skiing and mountain biking
4) I will jump with it, but I will also continue to use my alti 2, protrack, and most importantly my eyes

Soooo...
I just can't decide which looks better.
I really like the one with the dark face, but not terribly fond of the kahki ring around it.
The light face looks nice with the dark ring but doesn't have the nicer background.

Also, which background provides better visibility during freefall?

I don't use it freefall (LOL ... I haven't done a whole lot of freefall in the last year), but I do use the light faced style of Suunto mounted on a belt around my waist for setting up my swoops and am very very happy with it's performance in this manner. My Suunto rocks for helping me to setup my swoops!!!

I have the dark faced one but rarely look at it in freefall, I use audibles for that mostly. It is awesome under canopy. It can be a little hard to read if the sun reflects off it at a wierd angle. If people are going to be grabbing your wrists (RW), the buttons can get pushed if you aren't careful and the mode can get changed which is annoying and potentially dangerous. I'd much rather use one of L&Bs new digital altis when they get released for freefall personally.

I like the light-faced one and I think it would show up better in freefall.

I had one but didn't like it for freefall at all. Reflections make the small typeface even more difficult (impossible) to read. For canopy it's ok, then I can also put in back in alti mode, instead of the bari mode it sometimes managed to get into

I like my Neptune much much better!

I have been jumping with the light face one now for almost 3 years. I love it. I like the black face better for looks but I think the light face is more functional. sometimes you will have a hard time seeing the black face numbers even on the ground.. the other you can see it clearly from most any angle. I mean you do actually have to look at it in freefall.

although it is not something that you can really see by glancing at... but once you are used to it you will be able to.... that is why many people dont like them.

I got the light face one.
I too liked the looks of the dark face but can definately imagine it would be much harder to see the numbers in freefall.

Some people at my DZ have the dark face.
I can always exchange it.
