vdschoor 0 #2 October 1, 2005 Quotedoes one have to graduate aff to get a license? are there any alternatives? I don't know what you are trying to get to.. but yes.. Some of the skills you have to show to get your A license, you need to show in order to graduate aff. So if you never graduate from aff, you will never have your license.. kelpdiver 2 #3 October 1, 2005 well, can't he switch to a static line program? Ultimately you have to demonstrate the same sets of skills to be cleared for self supervised freefall (what graduating AFF essentially means), but it's a different route. Treeman, you need to elaborate on why/what you're looking for here.
Witelli 0 #4 October 1, 2005 Like if you lived on the outskirts of civilization with your two buddies, the pilot and the skydiver. And, they taught you to skydive and you've done hundreds of jumps with them, but none are documented. Would you still have to go through the entire AFF to get your "A" license. Hmmm, good question. pilotdave 0 #5 October 1, 2005 You'd have to get a uspa instructor to sign off each line of the A license proficiency card. Nobody has to do AFF, ya just have to demonstrate the proper skills. Dave
treeman 0 #6 October 2, 2005 so if you go get 20 coach jumps and get signed off you could possibly obtain your a license?
Jackpunx 0 #7 October 3, 2005 Quoteso if you go get 20 coach jumps and get signed off you could possibly obtain your a license? I could be wrong but it sounds like your trying to come up with a cost saving way of getting your A. If that is the case consider all the other things that a school provides like equipment and experience actually teaching people to skydive. Im a student and couldnt imagine cutting corners while learning to skydive. I could be wrong.. but either way.. be carefull in what ever you do. Im having a blast and am looking forward to getting my A.. I hope you have the same experience I am having. if its just a question on the technicalities of getting an A license dont pay any attentinon to me.. Im new..lol
Reginald 0 #8 October 3, 2005 Quoteso if you go get 20 coach jumps and get signed off you could possibly obtain your a license? No. A coach isn't suposed to jump with you until you are cleared to self supervise (pass AFF(). So why are you asking the question in the first place? What's the real issue?"We've been looking for the enemy for some time now. We've finally found him. We're surrounded. That simplifies things." kelpdiver 2 #10 October 4, 2005 buddy - this conversation would be much more useful to you if you got to the point. Right now you're fishing for something and we have no idea what. (probably should be in safety and training instead of here)
